Job Title: Cost Accountant
Salary: ₦400,000 – ₦700,000
Reports To: Head of Finance / CFO
Location: Abuja
Job Summary
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing key financial information and ensuring efficient cost control practices across the organization. This role involves budgeting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and profitability assessments for projects, clients, and internal operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Track project and operational costs to ensure alignment with budgets and contract terms.
• Prepare and analyze cost reports, cost benefit analysis, and margin reports.
• Develop and monitor standard costing systems for services, products, and advisory projects.
• Conduct regular variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Partner with project and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate inventory valuation, job costing, and direct/indirect expense allocation.
• Support pricing strategies for bids, tenders, and client proposals.
• Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning processes.
• Collaborate with auditors and compliance teams during reviews.
Qualifications
• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in cost or management accounting.
• ICAN, ACCA, or other relevant certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience working with donor-funded or project-based organizations is a plus.
