Overview:
Our client seeks a strategic and analytical professional to lead the Investment Intelligence Unit. This role involves producing high-quality investment research, developing data-driven insights, and creating commercial intelligence products for institutional clients and policymakers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Nigeria’s investment ecosystem and a strong track record in monetizing research and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish the Investment Intelligence Unit from the ground up, setting strategic direction and key objectives.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of investment analysts, economists, and sector specialists.
• Develop frameworks for data-driven investment insights, focusing on capital markets, sector trends, FDI opportunities, and economic forecasts.
• Lead the development of paid investment reports, sector whitepapers, and proprietary research tools for clients.
• Create data-driven investment opportunity reports covering key Nigerian sectors: technology, agriculture, energy, finance, infrastructure, and manufacturing.
• Develop quarterly market intelligence reports for investors, corporates, and government agencies.
• Build partnerships with regulators, multinationals, and research institutions for access to exclusive data sources.
• Act as a thought leader, representing the company, policy roundtables, and economic summits.
• Engage with institutional investors, venture capitalists, and policymakers to position Onyx as a leading authority in investment research.
• Build relationships with global and local media, positioning Onyx as a go-to source for investment insights.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years in investment research, financial journalism, or capital markets.
• Proven ability to monetize research and publish high-impact reports.
• Deep knowledge of Nigeria’s macroeconomy and key sectors.
• Strong data analytics and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Preferred:
• MBA, CFA, or advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Data Science.
• Experience leading research teams or intelligence units.
• Background with DFIs, think tanks, or investment banks.
